I almost sustained serious injury today jumping from tree to tree about fifteen feet off the ground in the woods at a nature preserve in Gainesville, FL. It had been raining and my grip couldn’t handle the wet tree bark on impact when I tried to secure myself and land the jump. Thanks to Brandon Sewall and Primitive Movement – I didn’t fall awkwardly and get injured, instead I instinctually focused on landing balanced, with a slight bend in the knees into a forward roll to break the fall. Luckily it worked out and I just popped up and kept moving unscathed. This is proof that with practice and focus, his approach builds a smart body and instinctual behaviors that will help one react to all of life’s everyday surprises. Body, heal thyself

I recently lost over 130 pounds.  But while my exterior looked great, my interior felt awful.  I was becoming really bored at the gym and while I LOVE to work outside, didn’t feel fit enough to join an outdoor bootcamp (which I thought was my only outdoor option).

Then, I discovered Primitive Movement.   My first session with Brandon was great, even though he had his work cut out for him.  My knees were shot from carrying around all that extra weight for so many years, and I had pulled my hip flexor so many times I could barely run. I was a mess.  I met with Brandon and within five sessions my lower back pain went away.  I start to feel the ease in my hips and I was able to start to run.   Now, several months later, I am a runner and rarely have knee pain anymore, whereas before it was chronic.

Brandon was encouraging from the start, and his energy level is always at a 10.  He makes working out fun, and the best part is you see the results quickly.  For example, I could barely climb up the rocks in Hudson River Park, but now I can jump on and off with ease.  I walk away from each workout feeling refreshed, and love doing all the homework Brandon gives me.  When I started working with Brandon I was still conditioned as if I had that extra 130 pounds on me, but now in just a few weeks I can run, do multiple sets of push-ups, and feel so much stronger.
